Marlborough Sounds Tour
I was lucky enough to take part in the Marlborough Sounds Tour in March 2020 just before New Zealand went into its first lockdown. A good afternoons row to the beautiful Hopewell Lodge was topped off with a fabulous room overlooking the sound a big soak in the spa pool again overlooking the sound with a few steps to a diver into the sea to cool off. The meals were superb especially the fresh mussel scoffing session.
Saturday’s row across to lunch and a nice cold beer the portage followed by touring around the bays and more spa and swimming made for a great day in the Pelorous Sound
The coastal boats are so seaworthy. I love that you can stand up and move around and also the cox seat if you need a rest is so comfortable for folk that are of normal build. The trip back to Havelock on Sunday saw some pretty active wind against tide action around one of the headlands but we powered through it with no concern, I must admit that when I looked at it I was slightly concerned but was pleasantly surprised. I was also very aware of your excellent knowledge of the sport of rowing and have full confidence in your safety priorities having long distanced rowed with you both on many previous occasions.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Trisha and Kevin for anything rowing orientated, they are both passionate about the sport are very organised and safety orientated and are genuinely great guys. If you are ever lucky enough to see these two in a crew it is harmony in motion and beautiful to watch
